Current aims
Refurbish/re-modelled toilets for the Main Hall
The toilet facilities in the Main Hall are the original fittings and fixtures installed in 1985 and has been subjected to daily use by the under fives playgroup, and many parties, celebrations and community events over that time, and it is now time to get them modernised and fully compliant with required standards. The plans are in very early stages and the Covid-19 pandemic has delayed a lot of our work but the Hall Management Committee and the Comeytrowe Under Fives are working closely together to complete this project.
This is a significant financial undertaking to improve these community facilities and we will need to raise the required funds, if anyone has any skills or knowledge that may assist us or would like to help – please do get in touch with us!
Completed developments
Main Hall Kitchen: A key development we delivered in 2019 is the Kitchen Refurbishment Project. The kitchen that serves our Main Hall was the original one fitted over 30 years ago and in that 30 years, it has supported the daily under fives playgroup, countless parties and birthdays, discos and community events as well as all of our regular hall user groups.
So we have decided it was time to retire our current facility and update it with new units and equipment that meets the modern needs of all the community groups that use the Hall including stainless steel units, counter tops, and sinks, specialist antibacterial wall coverings and a new specialist flooring and a commercial dishwasher available to all users completing a cleaning cycle in just a few moments!
External lighting: Following feedback from Hall users, during 2020 we have installed flood lighting in the car park that are activated by movement in the car park and on a timer
Covid: Several members of the management committee have been working hard to enable to Hall to re-open in some circumstances within the Government Guidelines, this has involved changes to hand drying facilities in toilets and the installation of hand sanitisers at entrances.
